Thomas Royds Obituary – Cause of Death – Passed Away : Thomas E. Royds, age 48, unexpectedly on Saturday July 24, 2021.
Tom was doing what he adored in life filling in as a Fire Fighter! He reacted with the Belmont Fire Company to a mishap on the Schuylkill Expressway. As they completed their work and were preparing to get back to the fire station he two different firemen and a state cop were struck by another vehicle driving on the freeway.
He was conceived October 7, 1972 in Philadelphia, Pa to Dolores Irene (nee Trimber) and Maurice Edwin Royds. He experienced childhood in Belmont Hills and moved on from Harriton High School and procured his Associates Degree from Delaware Community College.
Tom lit his fire battling vocation as a volunteer with Belmont Hills and Fire Co, continuing in his Father and Grandfather’s strides and afterward with Union Fire Association, Bala Cynwyd and by and by filling in as a Captain with the Clifton Heights Fire Company. Tom has been a Career Fire Fighter with Union Fire Association for as far back as 2 years and furthermore would help fill in shifts for other Lower Merion Township fire organizations when required.
Before Tom turned into a Career Fire Fighter he worked numerous years as a Supervisor with the Charles Friel Landscaping Company.
Tom was a games aficionado particularly the Philadelphia groups. He appreciated playing softball and golf and furthermore delighted in accomplishing yard work.
Tom is made due by his youngsters: Nicole Elaine Royds, Thomas Royds-Helverson and William Kamp-Helverson, his caring accomplice Tracey Helverson and his kin Cynthia Sugarbaker and Robert W. Royds.
Family companions and individual firemen might call 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Saturday at Lower Merion High School, 318 Montgomery Ave, Ardmore, Pa. 19003. Per Tom’s solicitation there will be no help. Interment will be sometime in the future.
